Timeless Classic "Brogue Shoes"

Brogue Shoes

Today, I’d like to introduce Brogue Shoes which is a timeless classic that has been around for many years and still remains fashionable.

History of Brogue
I’ll love to explain little bit about history of brogue shoes before we go over the many different styles and colors, because it is very interesting to know.

The Brogue shoes was originated in Scotland and Ireland that was constructed using leather with perforations that allowed water to drain from the shoes when the wearer crossed wet terrain such as a bog. The word “brogue” was first used to describe a form of outdoor in twentieth century worn by men. At that time the brogue was not considered to be appropriate for other occasion, social or business. Over time perceptions have changed and brogues are now considered appropriate in most contexts, including business. It continue to be most common as leather dress and casual shoes and boots, but also be found in many other forms including canvas and leather sneakers and high – heeled for women’s shoes. Brogue shoes also worn during formal dance because little heel that made a sound as they were tapped on the wooden floors.
Evolution of Design
Brogue Shoes design changed in the last 150 years. First generation of brogue shoes was very simple or no decoration but added masculine style.

Boho: No Looking Back

Last winter, the fashion world was inundated with tribal and fair isle prints. We've witnessed the comeback of moccasins, and on the horizon is the acceptance of the galactic print (crossing our fingers!). In the vein of the mystical and old-world cultural influences we've seen in apparel, jewelry has also taken a turn from modern.

You already have a gold dipped druzy pendant or geode, so hold on to that at least through this fall. Furthering the obsession with earthen energy is the bracelet ring combo piece (slave bracelet), the ear cuff, and ornate head jewelry. Clearly, the boho train has not come to a stop.

The "modern mystic" has the essence of the far east and the untamed Americas; the style connects us to ancient cultures and offers us to think about the road less traveled.

Navajo prints are now very popular, but this type of art
has been part of Native American life for centuries.

This style has major staying power and is still developing. Therefore, more and more manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon. If you only click away with one nugget of wisdom this week, remember that with great options comes great responsibility! Instead of sauntering around town looking like a strung out soothsayer, keep the "hippy" in you, hip. The Trailer recommends NOT piling everything on all at once, such as wearing a head piece with a dangling ear cuff and crocheted collar necklace while wearing a multi colored crossbody you bought in Mexico. Especially for Spring, keep it simple: if you are anything like us and love loads of bangles and rings, wear them! But keep the arm band off and wear delicate neck and ear accents if you choose to wear any.

Mens' Watches; not just for time anymore

Mens' watches originally were used in the united states to make sure that the train system was running on time and that there was a standard time kept so that there were no major collisions! These watches were so special that they had their own private federal standards to keep up to. The general form that the watch took on was that of the pocket watch, which consisted of just the watch face attached to a chain that fastened it to the wearers clothing. These watches were worn by men as most people in the railroad industry were all men.

In the 1900's watch makers like rolex and omega also began taking off and selling their watches next to jewelry stores and even considering the watch itself a pice of jewelry!

In the late 80's and early 90's the watches all went digital! With all the major watch makers making some type of digital watch! These watches came from companies like Casio, Timex, and Citizen, features often included a digital calculator, a digital calendar, and sometimes even a thermometer  These watches were often, if not exclusively constructed of plastic. These type of watches were also directed to men as they were the ones more likely to pickup more technologically driven items.

In the late 90's and early 00's watches took a back seat and were replaced by the cellphone, no one really wore a watch to tell what time anymore, and the newer generations found them to be redundant when the cellphone just as simply as a watch could tell you what time it was.

There is also the "James Bond effect" every time that a new movie in the franchies comes out people always pay attention to his gadgets whether they be his car, pens, or watches. During the movies theatrical time these items tends to be a hot commodity.

Starting in the late 00's, till now, we did see the watch do a revival as a fashion statement with big bold faces. The big face watches are so trendy that even the President has been seen wearing one!

At present a big pusher in the watch market for the masses is Michael Kors! His most popular watches for men in his las collection were those he did in rose gold. For his current collection the popular watches are those done in rose gold, but there is also an uptake in the colored stainless steel watches! With Michael Kors' growing empire, he's also taking the watch industry by storm!

Time in Style

Are you the type of person who has a hard time deciding between wearing a watch or a bracelet when going out?  No more having to debate between you're accessories being too dressy or too casual. Might as well have it all in one with these trendy watches that also look like bracelets/ bangles.  This allows you to have the look of a bracelet, while having the convenience of wearing a watch at the same time. You can also add other bracelets next to the watch making it more stylish and or a bulkier accessory.

This just goes to show you that wearing a watch is not just about being able to tell time anymore, it has now turned into a statement piece. These watches are a smart choice for those of you who can never make up your mind between wearing a watch and a bracelet.

These wrist watches/bracelets are perfect for everyday use whether it's wearing them to school, going out for a night on the town or even going to church.  Who says you can't have it both ways, so make sure to add one of these stylist pieces into your wardrobe.
